Holiday baking with the kids

Creativity takes in many forms and baking together is one of them. On Christmas eve, we got ambitious and baked two types of bread and a tiramisu Yule log cake.

We took a simple artisan bread recipe and added ingredients to make it extra special.

Artisan Bread Recipe:
*3 1/4 cups of all purpose flour (or bread flour)
*1 1/2 cups of warm water
*2 teaspoons of yeast
*2 teaspoons of salt

1. Combine all the ingredients together with the spatula or hand
2. Let it rise for an hour
3. Refrigerate for a couple of hours or overnight
4. When ready to bake, take it out of the fridge and knead it to a desire shape.
(If you want to add flavors to the bread, this is where you roll it out flat like a pizza add what your heart desires. In our videos, you'll see one of them is made with tomato sauce, parmesan cheese, sun dried tomato and basil. The second one is with dried cranberries, rosemary and drizzle with olive oil)
5. Let it sit and rise for an hour before baking 20 mins at 450 degrees F.

And as you can see, we made it a little festive and created a Christmas tree and candy cane shape out of these bread.
